Thirsty's Tavern
Welcome to Thirsty's Tavern, a cozy oasis nestled in the heart of Binghamton, NY. Located at 46 S Washington St, this bar and grill perfectly embodies the quintessential neighborhood hangout. The tavern’s charm lies not just in its ambiance, which evokes the welcoming spirit of a classic sports bar, but also in the delightful offerings that await patrons.
As you step inside, you'll instantly feel the warmth of a place that’s more than just a bar; it’s a community. Here, the bartenders double as attentive wait staff, ensuring you’re well taken care of while you sip on a perfectly poured cocktail or enjoy one of their well-known beer deals on Tuesdays and Thursdays.
One of the standout features of Thirsty's is its affordable yet delicious menu. Diners rave about the homemade macaroni salad and house-smoked beef brisket, which is frequently described as “to die for.” Whether you're in the mood for a hearty burger, a refreshing grilled chicken salad, or a tantalizing pork spiedie salad, the tavern's culinary offerings cater to all palates. Molly Nolan mentions the importance of letting your server know your preferences, ensuring a personalized dining experience.
- Vibe: The ambiance is intimate, reminiscent of “Cheers,” where regulars greet each other and new visitors quickly feel at home.
- Live Entertainment: Look out for occasional live music, adding to the tavern’s lively atmosphere.
- Affordability: Guests frequently praise the reasonable prices, with discounts for cash payments, making it easy to enjoy quality food without breaking the bank.
Thirsty's Tavern isn't just a place to grab a bite and a drink; it’s a gathering spot for friends, families, and even local musicians. As highlighted by local patrons, each visit can become a cherished memory within a community that knows the value of both good food and good company.
If you're searching for a bar with character, delightful pub fare, and a welcoming crowd, look no further than Thirsty’s. It’s a local favorite for a reason, and I personally can’t wait to return for another round of that unbeatable mac salad!

Classic bar/sports bar atmosphere with great food at affordable prices. Well-poured cocktails. The bar tender may be your wait staff at the table, but that's ok, they are attentive! Just a personal note- if your mac salad has tuna in it, you should mention that.

A cozy neighborhood bar where patrons and bartenders will both make an effort to chat if they see you around. Sometimes there’s live music. Also good pub food. Worth a visit (or two). Good beer deals on Tuesdays and Thursdays and seasonal sports always on.

This is a "Cheers" type of bar where you walk in after a couple visits and the people greet you with a smile and say hello! The food is delicious, the waitstaff is friendly, it is not too noisy to talk during lunch.

Awesome food...great sandwiches...homemade macaroni salad as an alternative to french fries...prices are more than reasonable...drink prices are good also....an enjoyable bar atmosphere not loud...great for older patrons... Thirsty's is still the same wonderful place...they survived COVID 19...the food is better than ever and it's plentiful. Their prices are still reasonable and if you pay cash there is a 4 % cash discount. It's clearly stated on the menu. They smoke their own beef brisket and it is to die for...I am still hooked on the macaroni salad. Keep making things the way you have and I will keep coming back!!!
